In 2004 I went to Nevada and photographed near Silver City and along the shores of Pyramid Lake. In the High Sierras I visited the South Tufa area of Mono Lake, the ghost town of Bodie, a former mining town that was home to 10000 people in its heyday in 1879 and Olmsted Point in Yosemite National Park, a smooth ledge of rock, dotted with craggy fir trees and boulders. It is a beautiful harsh and desolate landscape at 7000 - 8000 feet above sea level.
